In Terrassa, you will find a small piece of the Renaissance and one of its indisputable geniuses.
The exhibition, ‘Leonardo da Vinci: The genius and his inventions’ at the Museu Nacional de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya (National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia, mNACTEC) has already received more than 73,000 visitors since it opened in January.
The show allows you to view 40 machines and contraptions designed by the Renaissance artist and inventor between 1482 and 1510, faithfully reproduced and with materials appropriate for the time. They have been built using the manuscripts, sketches, drawings and indications in the Italian genius’ codices, among which there are 16 interactive pieces that the visitor will be able to operate. Bridges, bicycles, agricultural machines and war contraptions are some of the inventions that you can see and experience at mNACTEC.
Following the success in terms of visitor numbers, both for the exhibition and the complementary activities (more than 6,000 people have participated in the conferences, visits and school and family workshops), the Museum has extended ‘Leonardo da Vinci: the genius and his inventions’ until 29th October. Don’t miss out!
